When I was little, my mom washed my hair in the sink.  She would run her fingers down a strand of my hair and it would squeak.  "Squeaky clean! All done!"  Then she or my father would put a towel turban on my head "just like Lawrence of Arabia."

Off to Maine!

In the morning I head to Maine!  I will be "unplugged" until Friday night when I return home.  When I get back I'll catch up on Days 5 and 6 of The August Break.

I'm driving up there to the wilds of Maine.  It's a three hour drive and I will be all by myself.  Not even a puppy to keep me company.  Adventurous for me, but needed.

A Few Words

O.K. I know it is August Break which means keeping the words to a minimum, but just a few things happened at the end of July that I must write about, quick quick.

July 29 - My best friend gives birth to Madison Grace.  AMAZING!

Day 1 (Belated)

So, yesterday was Day One of The August Break which just happened to coincide with the 30th Birthday Surprise Party for my husband.  By 8:30 (an hour after all had left and most of the clean-up had been done) I was just too exhausted to post.

The party was at our house.  So, in order to get my husband out so his family could come in and prepare the surprise, Pierce and I took the birthday man in to the city.
